WEEK 62 EVERDAY (spelled correctly) February 25, 2019 Hey everyone! Week two down, it's been a good time here and we've been getting blessed. Elder Cloes is doing good, he's speaking really well for his 2nd week in the country but it's super funny whenever we talk to members and they ask him a question. Man I kinda miss being that young on the mission, but at the same time I'm really happy with where I'm at right now! It's kind of getting real to me that my mission won't last forever, so I'm really trying to make the most of what I've got left. The mission really has been the biggest blessing for me. But anyways here's my week.. 19 de Fev, we started the day off with our district meeting in Setubal and then we headed off back home! This week was full of studies because we have extra study time to prepare us for the smartphones. I also have to do extra time of Training, for Elder Cloes. Our mission president really wants us to focus ...

WEEK 61 The Best News

WEEK 61  The Best News! February 18, 2019 Hey everyone! First of all, if I don't respond this week, I read your email but didn't have time to respond! It's also dope because our mission gets phones on March 6th, and we're allowed to FaceTime our families every Pday and Special event now!!! But anyways, it was a pretty good week!! My new son, companion, Elder Cloes, is just a solid overall good dude. He's my second comp from San Diego Cali, so that's dope. We had a great week, and it's always a blast getting to teach another language! I love getting the question, "How do you say this?'", or, "how do yo say that?'". Good times!! Anyways, here we go! 12 de Fev, we woke up, and I took Elder Mansfield to his new companion in Setubal! There I picked up another elder, Elder Cox, and we went to the train station where all the missionaries meet up! My comp wasn't there because he was on an airplane coming here to Portugal. So I...

WEEK 60 Daddy Round 2

WEEK 60 Daddy Round 2  February 11, 2019 Hey Everyone! I’m training again, so Daddy Layton is back hahah. I still don’t know who my son will be, where he’s from, or anything like that! But I’ll find that out on Wednesday! I’m pumped, it should be great and I’m excited to start someone’s mission off on the right start again! That does put a close to my time with Elder Mansfield! We had a great 6 weeks, and it passed by pretty fast haha. I learned lots of stuff from him this transfer. This transfer I feel that I learned a lot, as a person and how to act in all circumstances… as well as how to recognize the whispers of the Spirit better!  We had a great week here as well, which included one of the most spiritual lessons of my mission. Let’s dive in! 5 de Fev, we woke up and had our last district counsel of the transfer! We actually went to a funeral for a woman from Setubal who loved the missionaries. We sung “Nearer my God to Thee”. It was pretty sad to see a...

WEEK 59, Elder Gondim, A Legend.

WEEK 59, Elder Gondim, A Legend. February 4, 2019 Hey Everyone. First thing hbd Chris. Second, my friend Vinícius in Porto is getting his mission papers started!!!! So awesome, I saw him get the melchezedek priesthood, go into the bishopric, and now he's preparing for a mish! And third... it's been one of the sadder more difficult weeks of the mission. One of my dear mission friends, Elder Gondim passed away last Monday. He passed away due to a surprise attack in the heart or brain. The Dr.s still need to figure everything out. He was playing soccer and once they stopped playing, he fell and died immediately, luckily he felt no pain. It's sad to see someone that you've grown to love pass away so suddenly. I'll share a story about Elder Gondim that forever touched me in the "cool story" section that I usually do. He was a great friend, and an amazing leader, and easily one of the best missionaries that I've ever met. My testimony on the Plan of Salv...
