Week 14 March 26, 2018 Hey everyone! Another week down for ya boi! It was an awesome week! Joel got baptized and Elder Hernandez had his birthday! March 20th - Woke up and then we went and finalized all the stuff we needed to for Joel's baptism! We knocked doors for like 4hrs... always fun stuff. March 21st - We met and got ice cream with Joel, we'll see him again tomorrow to get his baptism clothes ready. I balled with Karthiyegan for a bit which was so awesome because there's a really great ball court right outside my apartment. March 22nd - We got Joel fitted in his clothes for the baptism, and then we contacted and knocked doors for a long time. March 23rd - We got a text message from our President challenging us to not go home and sleep until we found a new investigater. (Investigater only counts if they listen to one of the lessons) We accepted the challenge. We didn't have to wait too long though because at lunch time we found a guy who had...

Week 13

Week 13 March 19, 2018 Hey everyone! This week was great and it's finally starting to get warmer here! The other day I saw a rock covered in lizards so that must mean that it's getting warmer. I should have taken a picture of the rock, my bad. But yeah, my second investigator Joel is marked for baptism this Saturday! Marco 24th. My crazy story this week is actually crazy, but it's not about me lol. Look at my blog this week because I'll have more photo's than I send here. (I'll post the link at the bottom of the email) We also got a new Sister in our area, Sister Ngalu! She's from Hawaii and she's honestly so dope!  March 13th - Every 13th day of the month is the day that I do my best to be perfect, as I challenged you all a month ago to do the same! Anyways, we had lunch with our mission leader Luis, and it was super good! We contacted a lot, and Joel cancelled on meeting with us because something came up, so we did even more contacting. Then we...

Week 12

Week 12 March 12, 2018 Hey everyone! Last week of my first transfer, and the time has actually gone by really fast! It was a good week though, not as rainy, and a little bit warmer! March 6th - I fasted for some investigators and other things. We knocked a lot of doors, and tried to contact lots but no luck. In the night, we went to a free English class taught by a member in the ward and we just helped him out! I was super excited for that because it's something that I'm quite skilled at... at least, I think hahah. Anyways, it was good to be able to speak a language and not have people understand me for one of the first times. Even though Portuguese is great. March 7th - Elder Olivera was in the hospital the day before, but he came back, so in the morning we went to go see him. Right after we got back home, he called us and asked if we could help with a blessing, so we walked back to his house, but it was all chill. I then took Hernandez to a place where I ha...

Week 11

Week 11 March 5, 2018 Hey everyone! This week you're gonna find out what it's like to be a missionary when your companion is sick hahah. Overall it actually ended up being a pretty productive week, both spiritually and language wise for myself! In the end of my email I'll talk about a couple of the different things about life here in Portugal. Tuesday Feb 27th  Started with an online Zone Meeting with a bunch of the other missionaries throughout Portugal, and our Mission President (the man who is in charge of all us missionaries). Then we went out from 5:30 until 10:00. All day it was pouring rain, the little river by our house was overflowing. All day nobody wanted to talk or accept a card from us because it was cold and pouring rain. This was the beginning of Elder Hernandez's sickness. Feb 28th Poured rain the whole day. Hernandez basically stayed in bed all day. We went out once.  I read from Alma 59-The end of the Book of Mormon in the day. And st...
