WEEK 71 A Must Read Week April 29, 2019 Hey everyone! First of all, I'm still on the mission, I just haven't had the chance to send my weekly email through email as of recent. But if you wanna see my past weeks you can look up my name on  Blogspot.com  and I'm pretty sure you'll find them!  http://elderparkslayton.blogspot.com  Anyways this week is a must read as we had 2 baptisms, the mission president came to our area, and my Grandparents came and visited me here in Portugal... what a week, I'll just start it off right now.  23 de Abril, we had District Counsel in the morning and that was great! Our district is so awesome, freakin love the buds. We found this big spider in the church and Elder Cloes was all over catching and setting it free. But Elder Cloes was also feeling super sick during the day so we honestly didn't do a whole bunch other than our long car rides and getting some stuff to prepared for the Baptisms that we'll be having this ...

WEEK 70 "Happy Easter" April 22, 2019 Hey everyone!! First of all Happy Easter! It really is the time of the year to remember Christ was resurrected and that we can be forgiven though the sacrifices he has already made it our place. Another week down in the books and it was a pretty good one!! There was even a National Gasoline Strike so that made things interesting!  Dia 16, in the morning we went hard trying to find some more people but it didn't really result in too much!! At least we made a couple good contacts and found one really good potential investigator named Gui!! We also met up with Helena, Davino, Gessika, e Tiago! Helena e Davino will be baptized this next Sunday (dia 28), if Tiago doesn't have work, he will as well. Gessika said she wants a little more time so that she has a firm response, we know that will all work out here super soon! After that we went to eat at Irma Valquiria and Irmao Jorge's house!! That was awesome because 5 missionar...

WEEK 69 Yup

WEEK 69 Yup April 15, 2019 Hey everyone! Week 69 in the books. So here it is.  Dia 9 de Abril, so we got up in the morning basically to get ready and then hop into our car and rip off to Setúbal!! There we had a great district meeting! It was Sister Hansen's birthday the week before, so during our District Counsel break we sung her happy birthday!! Also Sister Fernandes made "Pão de Queijo" (cheese bread) which was unreal!! And to top it off, Sister Ogden made banana bread. Whatta district. We (Elder Cloes and I) then, following that started a fast for the Zone. We then returned back home and got to work! We taught a lesson to Abdul, Duarte, and the other members of their family who are less actives in the church! It was a good lesson! Abdul is of the Muslim beliefs so it's cool to hear what questions he has for us and we have good talks. Duarte is only 10 but we were able to get him the "History of the Book of Mormon" book. That should make his ...

WEEK 68 Japan

WEEK 68 Japan April 8, 2019 Hey everyone! I'm sorry but it's another week where I didn't keep track every day... I'll do the highlight reel of the week. Next week I'll get it all written down. Anyways, as I'm sure most of you have heard, my brother Blaze was called to serve in the Kobe Japan Mission!!!! So crazy to think he'll be heading out, and that we'll have a 4 month stretch as missionaries together! Man I'm so excited for him and I know that he'll kill it out there!! We'll be doing the same work but be having such a different experience!  Secondly, April 5th was my Dad, Brady's birthday. This is a huge shoutout because this man has shown me how I wanna be when I'm older. I've learned, especially since being away from home, how hard the man works and as a missionary I've done my best to emulate that. There's nothing hard work can't beat. As well, he's taught me to have a kind and open heart, and to see...

WEEK 67 RAFA

WEEK 67 RAFA April 1, 2019 Hey Everyone!  the bigger version of this email will come later today, or next week! I'm pretty tired and don't know when I'll have time to fully write out a solid email!! So I'll just tell you about the baptism we had!! On Sunday after church we had a baptism!! Rafa got baptized and the day was just super great! She accepted everything so willingly and really showed she believes in what we're saying. The first time we taught her she started crying, the Spirit was so strong there. We continued teaching, and once we invited her to be baptized, she ran to the other room, screamed in a pillow, and then came back and responded, "Yes please". Seeing her faith, even at a considerably young age, was a great testimony builder. She was so happy the whole day! It was also Elder Cloes' first baptism! He was super excited and he didn't mess up at all when he said what he needed to say in Portuguese. I've really tried to f...
