WEEK 71 A Must Read Week

WEEK 71 A Must Read Week

April 29, 2019

Hey everyone! First of all, I'm still on the mission, I just haven't had the chance to send my weekly email through email as of recent. But if you wanna see my past weeks you can look up my name on Blogspot.com and I'm pretty sure you'll find them!  http://elderparkslayton.blogspot.com  Anyways this week is a must read as we had 2 baptisms, the mission president came to our area, and my Grandparents came and visited me here in Portugal... what a week, I'll just start it off right now.

23 de Abril, we had District Counsel in the morning and that was great! Our district is so awesome, freakin love the buds. We found this big spider in the church and Elder Cloes was all over catching and setting it free. But Elder Cloes was also feeling super sick during the day so we honestly didn't do a whole bunch other than our long car rides and getting some stuff to prepared for the Baptisms that we'll be having this week! We made the program and got most of the clothes ready!! Its gonna be a great day!!!

Dia 24 de Abril, well Elder Cloes was actually sick this day, so he rested a lot. I did all my studies and eventually cleaned and rearranged our whole house. It looks great now. Elder Cloes was feeling somewhat better, so we were able to go and meet up with Miguel and Marcia later that night!! That was great as usual.

Dia 25 de Abril, it was basically the last day Elder Cloes was sick. One of the sisters gave us the idea to let him sleep in. So we took off all our alarms and because I've been out here for a while, I woke up on time without a problem! It was great for Elder Cloes because he really did feel better after his rest. We started getting ready to work for the day when we got a call from the Sisters in Setúbal 2... they needed a baptismal interview as soon as I could that day. So we got in the car and headed off to Setúbal. I interviewed this man named Luis. We planned for President Fillmore to finish the interview the next day! After that we went for dinner at Irmão Jorge and Irmã Valquiria's house!! It was super great food and, once again, we ate with some other Elders including my trainer elder Hernandez! That was pretty cool! Good day.

Dia 26 de Abril, we had Zone Conference in the morning and that was super great!! We learned a lot about how to recognize the Spirit such as the fact that we usually way over complicate the difference between our thoughts and the Holy Ghost. Whatever good thought or feeling comes from God, so when you feel that small little voice, listen to it. That was awesome and after the Conference our President interviewed that man Luís and he passed his interview and got baptized in Setúbal on Sunday! After that we basically drove some sisters home and then we went to pass by Helena and Davino's house to prepare some last little things before their baptism!

Dia 27 de Abril, this was and unreal day. We got our studies done and then we went to go meet with my grandparents. Man that was the strangest but most amazing thing, after 1year and 4months, it was so weird to interact with family members again. I heard my Granny's voice from around the corner and I recognized it right away! It was awesome, then we went to the Castle in Sines. After that we went out to see this old fort, some cool views, and an island in the middle of the water just off the coast. We ate lunch at this little Portuguese restaurant and it was super good holy! After that we went back to Sines and I just talked to my Grandparents a bit about life and stuff like that which was great.  Good to hear an in person report on my whole family/extended family. After that we got up and left to go eat at a sushi buffet with President and Sister Fillmore, our mission presidents. It was really amazing and I could tell how much they really cared for all of us right away! President had never been to our area before as well, so it was cool for him to visit. We had a great dinner with them and some food talks. I'm really grateful for the sacrifice they made as they had just arrived from Germany the day before, they had a conference there.

Dia 28 de Abril, the big day!! So we got up and left for church in the morning. Church was awesome and it has never been more packed. We had 11 investigators and 5 less actives return. It was unreal and our Mission President and Sister Fillmore even spoke! After church we got changed into our white clothes to baptize and we took some pictures with them and the whole branch!! Then me and President Fillmore gave talks at the baptism and I sung "Paz em Cristo" with a member Joana Picanço, and it was a great spiritual experience! Then we baptized Helena and Davino! After that they received the gift of the Holy Ghost! Than we had lunch with the branch! Man it was good. We then took my grandparents home to rest because we had dinner with the Picanço Family! Man they made some great food! The day was incredible. I've really witnessed a change in Helena and Davino wow. Ever since I first met them by knocking on their doors to where they are now, just changes my perspective on everything. I love them like family and I love the work that the Lord can do through us. My mission is amazing.

So that was the week and it was unbelievable, probably one of the, if not the best Sunday I can remember!!

Cool story, read "dia 28 de abril"

Scripture of the week---> The Book of Mormon introduction, it really explains what The Book of Mormon is, why it is necessary,  and how we have it!  https://www.lds.org/scriptures/bofm/introduction

Challenge: honestly I dont have one, just pray thanks to God for the great week we had here!!!
