WEEK 97 Hello Seixal
WEEK 97 Hello Seixal
October 28, 2019
Hey everyone!
First week of the last transfer down and it was a crazy/weird week. I got my new comp Elder Lehnhof who is from Highland utah. He has the exact same amount of time on the mission as my little brother Blaze! It’s pretty fun for me to think about the face that I have the opportunity/honour to start off someone's mission and that people had prayed for Elder Lehnhof to get a good trainer just like I was praying for my brother to get a good trainer. I'm super motivated to work so hard and just keep grinding until the last day! And that's what I'm going to do! Elder Lenhof is super cool, and super motivated to work so it’s gonna be an unreal transfer.
Our area is called Seixal and it is absolutely unbelievable! We have eaten lunch and dinner with members every single night since we arrived here, which is unheard of, especially since we completely switched the Elders who were here and didn’t know anyone. I feel like we already have a great connection with the ward, the members, and we've already made some great contacts in the little time that we have had to work. I can say that this is the best place I could've went to end my mission!
However I didn’t get Elder Lenhof until Thursday... on Tuesday the new assistant Elder Jacobs showed up so he went with Elder de Lima and I stayed the day with Elder Ross. Elder Ross is suuuper sick and he's from Texas and we spent the day with a car visiting people and dropping missionaries off in certain places. We even drove down to Seixal and left my bags in the my new Apartment! So that was cool, because the next day we woke up and I drove us to the train station of Lisboa Oriente where all the missionaries meet for transfers. I said bye to Elder Ross and I ended up staying with Elder Rolfe for the rest of the day. Elder Rolfe is also super dope and we're good buddies. We had to stay together the whole day because we were both training and the new missionaries would be there the next day. We actually spent that day in one of my old areas, Carregado. It was so fun to see people I hadn't seen in over 1 year and a bit! Just unreal, I love that area so much. It was perfect because Elder Rolfe is serving in an area that had a car so we were able to use that the whole day. It was fun going there, and just talking with Elder Rolfe all day about the mish, and life, and stuff like that. Then we went and stayed in a hotel right beside the temple, waiting for the next day.
The next day we had the New Missionary training with Presidente Fillmore, the assistants, the new missionaries, and the trainers. It was great! And the suspense was there for the whole day to see who we would train! When I was told that I'd be training Elder Lehnhof, I was super pumped!! He's exactly who I was hoping for! So we then got a ride from the Assistants to our area (Because we had no idea how to get there) and then I said bye to Elder de Lima my last comp and we got to work here! We actually had dinner in the night and so we worked for a bit and then went there!
Here we've basically been getting to know members and people who the last missionaries here left for us to visit (Like Natan, see pics)! All I can say is that this Ward is unreal, and all the members want to help out so badly. I am so happy and I feel so blessed to have been called to serve in the area of Seixal!
I don't really have much more to say! I'll have more info next week! Love you guys.. see ya soon!
