WEEK 69 Yup
WEEK 69 Yup
April 15, 2019
Hey everyone! Week 69 in the books. So here it is.
Dia 10 de Abril, Our mission re-started the "Golden Hour" which is an hour dedicated to finding new people and anyone you see you gotta contact. We did that in the morn but nothing really came from it sadly! Still fun though. We then went and saw our recent convert Rafa and gave her a dress and a picture in a frame of us 3 right before she got baptized! It was great. We got some good studies done and then we headed out to the middle of nowhere to try and teach a woman named Emelia we met a while back, but sadly no luck there :/ then we went to Miguel and Marcias house for dinner! Man they're great people and I'm so excited for the day when everything gets figured out and Miguel gets baptized. We helped them move some heavy stuff because they just got settled in!!
Dia 11 de Abril , Man, what an interesting day! So we got up in the morning and took our car to the shop to get serviced because of how many Km's it has. So after that, we walked home from the car shop and contacted people on our way home. The thing was that after that we had to get to the church without our car. So we found a bus that got us there. We had to go to the church because the electricity stopped working and we had to let someone in to get it working again. And because we live the closest to the church for the people who have keys, we had to go. We also did our weekly planning there because Friday we wouldn't have time! Then after that our car was ready so we had to go back on the bus and got it! I didn't really know where the bus stop was so it was a good excuse to contact people! We went back and there was a problem with the payment so we had to figure that out, but eventually we did. Following that, we left for Santo André to read the Book of Mormon with Rafa our recent convert. She loves reading with us, she never wants to stop! We gotta grab one of those "Stories From The Book of Mormon" so she can have one to understand even better when she's reading alone!
Dia 12 de Abril, So we had to go to Setúbal so that I could do a baptismal interview for a little boy named Luka! He's such a good kid and knew quite a bit of things! After that, we went and helped a family who just moved here from Brazil more stuff into their new house! Lots of sofas and mattresses, cabinets and stuff like that! The elevator helped a lot but not everything fit in it! But they live on the 5th floor. It was great, they were super grateful and have even already accepted a baptismal date! Following that, Elder Burmudez and I went and taught another girl! It was a good time and lil division in Setúbal!
Dia 13, we got up in the morning just to go do some more service! We went to help rearrange this broken down nursery again with our district! It was a good time! Following that we stayed in Setúbal and watched Luka's baptism. They had a big party before it and it was just great to watch. After that, we tried to get a baptismal interview done with our little friend Tiago because he was also in Setúbal. Sadly his dad wont let him get baptized for the time being, soo that's too bad. His baptism was scheduled for this past Sunday but as you can understand, it didn't happen. We then returned home and visited Helena, Davino, Gessika, and Tiago. But everyone was resting except for Gessika, so we just visited with her for a bit!! Then that was basically our day! We got some contacts done in the end but it wasn't too effective.
Dia 14 de Abril , we had church and it was great! Helena and Davino loved the classes! They are just the bomb. After church we went home and ate some lunch that the members gave us. So then went out to the city of Santiago do Cacém and there we went to visit some people. We were able to find out one of our investigator's problems with the church, so that was great!!! We then went to Santo André and got some door knocking in! It'd been a while and it was some great practice for Elder Cloes! We found some great people that we should be able to return and teach!
Good week!
Cool story: We got to visit Cristo Rei again this Pday, look it up if you can.
Scripture of the Week: Ether Ch12 V6
"E agora eu, Morôni, quisera falar algo a respeito dessas coisas. Quisera mostrar ao mundo que fé são coisas que se esperam, mas não se veem; portanto, não disputeis porque não vedes, porque não recebeis testemunho senão depois da prova de vossa fé."
6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.
Straight up great one, faith is to continue believing especially without seeing. If we saw God, we wouldn't need faith because we've had knowledge. God knows that through exercising our faith we'll grow in so many different aspects. I've seen that here on my mission for sure.
Challenge of the Week: write me a letter that I can print off for a family (Helena, Davino, Gessika, Tiago, and José that we are going to baptize. I think they'd love to see they have support even in Canada!
That it for me, ficam bem.
Elder out.
Mamba out.
