Hey everyone! I started adding names to my weeks ahah! Also if there's anything that I don't email enough about, or anything that you'd like to know more about in these emails just let me know!
May 15th - We worked super hard but not much luck. Before we went home we met a mother and a daughter and had a great talk. They told us with tears in their eyes how lucky we were to be from North America. They expressed how so many people would give anything to live there. They told us to remember how lucky we were and to live life there for them.
May 16th - We visited a less active member and things were awesome there! There was a "Carnival de Universidades" a university party in the streets of downtown! There were floats, crazy people, lots of drinks hahah, and even a guy in a Shaq jersey! It was crazy, and we had to walk right through it to get to our appoinments!
Maio 17th - Imma just skip to the main part of the day. We were working with Sol Amor again and we met and taught Alex and Catia. A young couple of 19 and 20 years old. We taught and Alex (He taught himself English at the age of 5) he opened up about his life to us and he said he had never done that with anyone before. There was a strong connection and spirit there. He told us he didn't understand how he felt like he knew us from before like brothers! We had a great time just talking. I love this guy so much! He's a Portuguese rapper also! Then in the night we were walking home and on the path some women around the age of 35 - 40 came up to us and asked where we were from! The one acually had family that lives in Calgary. We soon found out they were drunk though, and the other woman started feelin up my arm then grabbed me in a hug and kissed me on the cheek. It was really whack but we were able to get out of there quickly! Crazy tho.
May 18th - We had "Noite de Integracao" a night of interrogation! Alex showed up and things went great. He told us and Sol Amor that we are like 3 angels to him. It was a great night!
May 19th - We taught Alex and Catia again, this time in the church instead of a park bench ahah! But anyways the lesson was awesome, and they accepted a baptismal day!
Maio 20th - It was Stake Conference! So we saw all the missionaries in the North of Portugal. In the night we met some really nice people from England!
It was an awesome week! I can really tell you this gospel is true and that it can change lives for the better. I know that. I feel so blessed to be a part of sharing the message of the true restoration!
My cool story is that we saw some dudes handcuffed and getting put into a HEAVY duty Police Truck with a cage and everything... I wish I knew what they did ahah!
My challenge this week is to read ST John Chapter 11 Verse 35. JHN 11:35. The way Jesus feels here emphasizes his love for his fellow brother. Because of this love he performed a miracle for Lazarus. Although we may not see it in as big ways as Lazarus did, he performs many miracles for us in our every day lifes. I challenge you to try and recognize some of these miracles!
Awesome week! As usual there will be more pics on my blog! Love you all, keep it real and stay out of jail ahah.
