Week 32! Gotta love Carregado

Week 32!  Gotta love Carregado

July 30, 2018

Hey everyone! I'm honestly feeling really good about the language, I don't need to think in order to speak and I can basically say any phrase I want, I just need a bigger vocabulary now. But, as well, just fully perfect the grammer. All in all, I'm feelin so great with the language. But as well, it was another eye opening week here. I really have started to realize how blessed of an area Carregado is. The members are awesome and they love the missionaries, the people on the streets are awesome! And we have some solid investigaters right now! Also my comp is dope so that always helps!! Anyways here were my days!

24 de Julho, Elder Terra was super sick!! He asked me for a blessing, when I gave him the blessing I felt inclined to give him a certain time frame where he would feel healthy. During that time frame he felt perfect, and we actually went and gave a blessing for a sick women in our branch! But then after the certain time frame I said, he felt super sick again. Even though it was basically a house day, it was a super tiring day, because I felt the blessings took something out of me!

25 de Julho, we started our day with a zone meeting in Santarem. Pretty cool, just us and all the missionaries in our specific zone! Then we went back home and met with two investigaters Telis and Deli, they're awesome and wanna have us over or lunch one day. It was a really good lesson and I shared some personal experiences and the spirit of the Lord was strongly there. That was basically the day!

26 de Julho, We had lunch with a member, Tiago, and then we went home and tried to plan a new way to teach the first lesson. And it worked unreal. I received an undeniable feeling and a surge throughout my body. I felt the spirit. And it was legit. In the night we were walking on the street and stopped by this young couple and ended up talking for 45 mins! We answered a bunch of their questions and set up a meeting in 2 weeks with them because they have vacations right now!

27 de julho, One of our investigators, Natahsa, basically bailed on us for the morning, And I had a cool moment where I was sitting waiting for a bus where I could only see everyone as a child of God. Which is true, we all are children of God. Then we took the bus to Azambuja... no luck. Got a ride home from Joel and Emily, a super cool young couple in the ward!

28 de Julho, Great day and I had my English class! A lot of new people showed up including a fam of 5! So I let Elder Terra teach the new people the first lesson (That he saw me teach the week before) and I taught some of the usuals numbers. Next week will be verbs and stuff with everyone all joined together. Yeah then we met a man named Max who wanted us to return to his house the next day!! So that was basically the day. (I'll leave out the rejection parts hahah)

29 de Julho, Sunday so church but also President and Sister Fillmore came to our branch! It was super cool, and they're actually so cool! They stayed all three hours, got to know the members, and President Fillmore and I talked to a young man, Samuel, about going on a mission. Honestly the new mission president and his wife are so cool, kind, loving, as well as super funny! So church was really awesome! Then we went over to Tiago's house for lunch, which was basically a meat buffet sooo that was awesome. After that we went and shared a message with Max from the day before. It was him and his mom. Next week we have an appoinment to teach them and Max's wife! Then in the night, everyone we tried wasn't home though aha!

Like I said though, it was a great week!

Cool story from the week is just an inside on what the life is like here, at night. Lots of the time we see people doing graffiti, but there are so many groups or "squads" that just chill on the streets. We know a lot of them by now. Like last night one of the African squads was in front of the church blasting music, with a portable mini fire pit, and some food. We also see people peeing in random places lots. Every pastry shop or little bar place always has it's "classic" group of old men chillin outside of it on chairs. There's a lot of cats on the street. As I've said before, there aren't many Portuguese people here.. Just loads of people from Cape Verd, Angola, Guinne, Mozambique, Brazil, and the Ukraine. They all speak the language though. Oh yeah, yesterday we saw a Ukrainian fight... we caught the end of it but this girl one punch dropped an older man.. and then the groups were yelling and crying and it looked like a mess. Classic times here in Carregado.

My scripture of the week is 1 Nephi Ch18 V3
Think about the word "Frequently" (oft) and why it is used twice. What is important about it?

And I, Nephi, did go into the mount oft, and I did pray oft unto the Lord; wherefore the Lord showed unto me great things.

My challenge this week for all of you is... goodle map "Carregado Portugal" and just check out my little town here!

Alright, have a great rest of your week, hope all is well. Love you all! I don't have many pics this week
