WEEK 38 "Water in Braga"
WEEK 38 "Water in Braga"
September 10, 2018
Hey everyone! "Zona C" is still lit. Overall it was a pretty hard week in terms of missionary work. We've been getting wrecked by eveyone! But it's chill, cause I know we're doin our best. A cool thing is that a man "Santos" got baptized up north in Braga! When I was with Elder Baugh, we met him on the street and taught him some of the first lesson! Then I got transferred, but it's amazing to think he's baptized now! Another cool thing is that I'll likely be driving here in Portugal! I have to go to Lisbon later today because all day tomorrow I'll be doing stuff to make sure I can drive here! I thought I wasn't going to drive for 2 years but my mission President and the Lord thought otherwise hahah. Looks like Imma be drivin in Europe! But anyways let's jump into my week.

I thought I wasn't going to drive for 2 years but my mission President and the Lord thought otherwise hahah. Looks like Imma be drivin in Europe! But anyways let's jump into my week.
4 de Set, This will be the theme of the week... but basically our day was involved with gettin wrecked, and shut down. We played soccer with a dude named Jonathon for a bit. The miricale of the day was we went to some appointments and then the people shut us down. After that we felt like going to a certain building. We went there and met a man, Carlos, and that was the miracle. We started talking and he brought up The Book of Mormon. We gave him one and he tried to give us 5 euros for it, but of course we said nope! He told us he'd read the book because he wants to know all he can about religions so he can make the right choice!! Promptings are dope!
5 de Set, We went to Filipe's. He was trembling with joy about the temple and the fact that he has been praying every day and feeling close to God! Honestly amazing to see his growth and progress in the Gospel! Then we had lunch with Tiago! Then we gave an Irma a blessing of health! And we ran into Carlos again, he said he had been reading the Book of Mormon and that he thinks it's an interesting book. He asked us where and when we have church as well! Blessins on blessins on blessins. I also received the message that I'll be drivin here in Portugal!! Should be quite the experience. The drivers here are kinda crazy but super skilled at the same time. Then we got some Kebob, classic.
6 de set, Started off the day with a Zone Meeting in Santarem. It was a super good meeting, our new President is really working on baptizing real converts and keeping them firm, as well as reactivating members. But yeah, learned lots and saw a bunch of homies like my good friend, and MTC companion Elder Webb. Always a blessin to see that guy. He's a good example of what a missionary should be! But it's always nice to catch up with him. It's just funny that we talk in Portuguese right now! In the night, we were shutdown, some people were pretty rude, but it's fine cause we know they don't know what and who they're rejecting. Anyways that was the 6th!
7 de Set, Kinda sad all I have to say is that we got rejected once again. One lady wanted to hit us, we think, but luckily we fleed from her presence.
8 de set, Got wrecked at some doors, but I taught my English lesson and it ran smooth! I'm really friends with the students now and they're always so grateful. It's just so funny I'm teachin english. Never thought about that once in Highschool!! Santos was baptized! As I said in the top, I met Santos with my great friend Elder Baugh in Braga! And now he is a new member of the church!! Que fixe!
9 de set, Church, Filipe was happy as ever at church and is on the pathway to getting the Priesthood! Also some members brought a friend and we'll be going over and are teaching him later this week! After we had lunch at Irma Luisa's and then we had a Family night at her house later. I was given the job of making cookies... Turned out great except the fact they wanted it all in one. Which means in was just a giant cookie cake! It was good though!
As you can see, another one in the books. We gotta grind through the hard times to understand how good the good times are. But with that being said, Santos was baptized and also we met Carlos. Diamonds in the rough!
My cool story for the week is... Well I'll be driving and that Santos was baptized in Braga. And my Portuguese is gettin better every day. I never have to think in English to say stuff and I can joke around and just be myself in Portuguese. It was a grind but I'm gettin to where I need to be!
My scripture of the week is 2 Timothy Ch2 V10. It kinda turned into my mission theme. Especially during hard stretches of work. But it's easily one of my top fav scriptures.
2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Weekly Challenge, Send me a picture of a cool or beautiful Place inside or close to Calgary. Elder Moreira (my comp) wants to see some of Canada. He's always asking me questions about Canada and always tells me how it sounds like the perfect place haha! He's a super cool dude, we'll definitly stay homies on the mish and after the mish.
Imma quote Meek Mill here but "Lord Knows" I don't know why some things happen, especially out here. But I've let go of what I want and I've been putting faith in the Lord's desires. It's been helping me and blessing me, even times of struggle and I'm so grateful for His will.
Dope week, until the next one
