WEEK 46 We're Euro-Steppin again
November 5, 2018
Hey everyone! First thing I gotta do is shoutout my best bud Cam, he had his Bday on the 2nd of November. Love the dude so much and I know he's killin it out in Madagascar. 19 has never looked so good haha. But it was another solid week out here in Porto. Especially since my comp's foot got better by the end of the week! But we still stayed in the house a bit because Elder Jardine still had to rest his foot, so he didn't re-hurt it. Other than that, my week includes a sushi buffet, and gettin rekt a lot.

Oct 30th, Basically another day in the house chillin. At 7 we left with the Senior missionaries (they picked us up) and we met up with Natalina. We basically just read an excerpt from the Book of Enos, so that was great. Then we went home and Elder Jardine rested his foot.
Oct 31st, Happy Halloween homies. Honestly the most dead Halloween I've ever seen. Nobody in Europe actually celebrates Halloween. And it was my first year absent from the Layton family Halloween party so that was too bad, especially since we always get some killer Chinese food. But anyways, we went to the Dr.'s for Elder Jardine's foot. He said Elder Jardine is ready to work but just to take it slowly right off the start, so he doesn't re-injure himself. In the night we went to the church for English classes. At the church there was a bunch of little kids dressed up celebrating Halloween, that was the most Halloween thing that I saw all day.
1 de Nov, I made a bunch of phone calls in the morning off a member list we had. We want to pass by a bunch of the less actives to end this transfer off and really help the church get stronger in that sense. After that, we went out working and sadly didn't get accepted too much. This area is a little bit difficult but I know there's people out here waiting for us!
2 de Nov, Shoutout Cam HBD. We had our weekly planning sesh in the morn. And during the day, we made some pretty good contacts but nothing really came from it in the end. Knocking doors didn't go too great but hey, what can you do except try your best.
3 de Nov, So we went off in the morning to knock some doors. As we went out, Elder Jardine felt we needed to go to a certain area. When we got there, we started walking and a man, about 60, who looked a little rougher called us over. He went on telling us how he's been a member for 10 years and how he's a preisthood holder but he just hasn't been to church in a while. The whole time he kept waving and saying goodbye to his "Son" at the train station, so that was strange, especially because the kid never turned or even seemed like he knew anyone else around him. We started walking with this man and then a 70 year old woman called us over she started asking when church was and then started bragging about how she'd been a member of the church for 30 years. The old man who was with us didn't like that she had more time than him and they began arguing about who was more faithful. Eventually we steppred in and just invited them to come to church on Sunday and they both accepted. Then we started knocking some doors.. but then we got a phonecall saying we needed to go home and give the wheelchair we had back to some senior missionaries. They needed to take the chair to another area, so we went home and gave them the chair. Following that, we went and worked some more. But in the night, we went to a sushi buffet with Natalina. Sooo good, I hadn't had sushi in around 11 months! Wow I've been gone a while ahah.. But it was so good and I for sure got my money's worth. For sure. Then we went and got Ice Cream with her, killer times.
4 de Nov, It was pouring! We had church in the morning and that went great. Then we walked back home in the rain and had some pasta for lunch. In the night we went to Irma Karina's house for dinner with the other Elders. That was good, we had some more pasta.
So that was basically the week! Today we didn't get much done besides a Pizza Hut buffet hahah.
Cool Story: I got a bus/metro card pass! It's got my picture and everything, I'll add it in my email. When I got it, the lady asked me if I was Portuguese and I told her, "Naw, sou de Canadá". She told me she thought cause of my accent I was Portuguese, but my hair, eyes, height and everything else that I was a foreigner. So that caught me off guard, but it felt pretty good to receive that compliment! However true it was!
Scrip of the week: Enos Verses 5-8...
5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed.
6 And I, Enos, knew that God could not lie; wherefore, my guilt was swept away.
7 And I said: Lord, how is it done?
8 And he said unto me: Because of thy faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years pass away before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee whole.
God can't lie, if we do our part we'll be forgiven and we'll know it.
