WEEK 64 Setúbal

WEEK 64 Setúbal

March 11, 2019

Hey everyone! So first of all shoutout to one of the greatest of all times, GP! It was my Grandpa Layton's/GP's birthday on the 6th. I miss that guy a lot and the great moments we had! It was also my homie Isabelle Galvin's bday! She's a real one and plus she's just dope. Anyways, happy birthday to them! So anyways, we spent more than half of our week in Setúbal, not because we wanted to hahah. We had to live out of a mini suitcase for 4 days! We basically got there on Monday thinking that we'd be leaving later that day... but it ended up being Thursday that we left. Other than that we had a Zone Conference, and marked some of our friends to be baptized! The church was packed again and were really seeing the hand of the Lord here in our area of Santo André. But let's just jump in. We got a bunch more people who we are hoping to mark for baptism this upcoming week.

5 de Março, we had to stay in Setúbal, because of that we missed some appointments that we had back in our area but we worked with Elder White and Mansfield in the morning and then went over to Elder Santos and Elder Bermudez's place in the night. Honestly, we basically walked around the whole city lugging around our mini suitcases. We made a couple pretty good contacts but, all in all, it was just a lot of walking and having to deal with not being in our area.

6 de Março, HBD GP! HBD Isabelle! We had our Zone Conference and it was great. We got a big training on our new smartphones and we can now use them and Facebook for our work! It's gonna be unreal and we've already seen it be of use. We actually had to end up staying in Setúbal again... but it was chill because we had dinner with a member. Man it was a good time, I love watching my son (Elder Cloes) eat at the table with native speakers. Man funny times. But the day was great. I saw some good friends that I hadn't seen in a bit, and learned some good stuff from President Fillmore. The way that he leads us here in this country is awesome, he doesn't set a million rules because he puts his love and faith in trusting us to use the gift of discernment and let us make decisions to help our growth. Through it, I'd say, he has the support of basically all the missionaries! Great man, great leader.

7 de Março, got up in the morning and we still had no idea when we'd be getting our car... because of that we went on another division, this time with Elder Turner and Elder Buarque. That was a fun division. We made some great contacts and found some less actives who had no desire to return, for the time being. But then we went back for lunch and E Buarque made some Brazillian specialty chicken. Then we actually got a call that we could go get our car, so we did and then went back home. By the time we got the car, waited to actually get it, and go home, we had no time for anything else Haha. Good times.

8 de Março, well we finally got back into the town and we had lots of stuff to do! We had to start our day off by doing gas receipts, so that was a blast. We had a bunch to do sheesh. We then had to weekly plan. But in the night, we went over and ate dinner with Miguel and Marcia, they've been getting all the documents they need and are being really blessed by the Lord. But they're also helping and giving back to others. They'll get married within the near future and then Miguel can be baptized!

9 de Março, it was a great day, we went to a members house and helped out on the farm for a bit. Following that we went to teach our great friends Elena, Jessica, e Tiago. Davino wasn't there. We taught them about the gospel of Christ and the points of it. They responded really well and accepted to be baptized on the 31st of March. They want to know some more rules of the Church but have the desire to be baptized. So through Christ it'll all work out perfect for the 31st. After that, we went for dinner at Irmao Jorge e IUrma Valquiria's house and the food, as usual, was soo good!! It was a great day!

10 de Março, Church was great! We had a bunch of our 6 friends there at the church and a bunch of less actives returned! Honestly, we didn't get much else done because our appointments fell through. But here pretty soon we should be having some goooood days. We've got lots of people who want to improve on their knowledge in the gospel. Its gonna be great.

Cool story: well here's just the story of our car. We took it in 2 Tuesdays ago (Feb26). And we were supposed to be getting it back the following Monday, (Mar4) and they basically stretched it to the Thursday which was the 7th. Man it was kinda annoying but the divisions were funand living outta mini suitcase was great. But we eventually got our car and just played it off nicely with the people and everyone was somewhat satisfied! We were just happy to get to see our people back in Santo André/Sines.

Scripture of the week, 3 Nephi Ch9 V14. His arm is always extended. We just need to do as the scripture says.

"Sim, em verdade vos digo que, se vierdes a mim, tereis vida eterna. Eis que meu braço de misericórdia está estendido para vós e aquele que vier, eu o receberei; e benditos são os que vêm a mim."

14 Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.

Challenge of the week, send me a cool photo so that I can set it as my background. Keep in mind it should be something a missionary CAN use.

You guys rock, send me an email.

Elder out.

Mamba out.
