WEEK 72 Queluz

WEEK 72 Queluz

May 6, 2019

Hey everyone! Transfers came in and I'm heading off to "Queluz"!! Apparently the area is just amazing and based on what I know, I wouldn't have chosen any other area. My new comp is super dope as well, his name is Elder Santos and he's from Brazil!! I'm super excited to work with him as we are already good buds. I´m honestly so pumped though hahah. The ward I'm going to became a ward about 12 weeks ago or something like that so it should be a lot of fun!! Just water.

And a big shoutout to my boy Elder Baugh who is heading home right now. He was my second comp in the field and I'm grateful for the example and affect he had on my mission. If every missionary was as good as that guy... I'll let you come to a conclusion there, just know that he is as good as it gets and I feel blessed to have served with him for 7 weeks. I am a better missionary and person right now, because of him. Baugh... "If You're Reading This It's Too Late"
(Only real homies will get that reference)

I honestly didn't record what I did every day this week as I usually do, so this week will be a bit lamer in that respect, but I'm sure you'll be alright with that...

Anyways, I just want to say that I have really enjoyed my time in Santo André even though it could've been my hardest time during the mission. I was able to really humble myself, and even better, my patience has never been tried as much as it was and I was able to continue and not crack. I really am grateful that the Lord put me in the area of Santo André, because without it, I would not have been able to develop and become closer to that of Christ. As well as the fact that I had to meet Rafa and see her get baptized, that was amazing. She told me she wants to be a missionary when she gets older, so that is incredible. As well as the fact that I was able to meet the Costa Family (Helena, Davino, Gessika, José, and Tiago) while knocking doors. I'll tell you there's nothing like meeting someone randomly at their doorstep, and watching them progress all the way unto baptism. Which was also incredible that my grandparents were there to watch the baptism. But really, seeing the Costa family's desire to know more and follow what we said really showed me to show my faith unto the Lord, as well as follow the Spirit. They know the church is true, even so much that they tried to pay tithing before being baptized! Unreal, I love them and I cannot wait to keep up with them over the years! This area has really helped me mature even more as a person, and I really will miss it. Another thing I learned here was that if we work hard on something, the results will come. Before I came here I was told by a few people that this area wasn't amazing, or in other words it's a "hole". I didn't like that, and I can honestly say this place is as good as an area gets, and that with hard work, faith, patience, and love the Lord reveals miracles. I'll miss this place, and I will never forget it.

It was a good two transfers training Elder Cloes! It's safe to say I'm leaving the area in good hands, as it is evident to tell that Elder Cloes really loves the people here in this area.  It was a great serving with him and we had some great moments. Nothing brings people closer than working and helping people to come unto Christ. I won't lie that Elder Cloes and I are pretty different people, but I know that we're now bros for life! We never fought or argued even once. I'm glad we got to share our different interests together and learn new things, I'm sure that's how we could touch the lives of several different people. It's the beauty of the mission, and I for sure developed some Christlike attributes because of our time together.  Also his new comp, Elder Mortensen, is an unreal missionary. I feel blessed that they will be able to continue the work here. This branch deserves it.

Also, in specific, this transfer was dope because we had such a sick district. 10/10. We even had to say bye to 2 of the Sisters, Sister Ogden and SIster Hansen. They're real ones and made the transfer great, for sure gonna miss them!!

Cool story: On the Sunday I felt a prompting we needed to go to a members house right away, even though it was 20 minutes by car. We got up and left and once, we entered the members house, they had a friend there who was in a rough situation. She needed someone to talk to and the member said she was going to ask us to come over. It worked out perfect because we had just the right amont of time to talk before our dinner, and the friend of this member felt a lot calmer and wants to start going to church in the city she lives in. Sorry I was really vague but this was a personal experience and I felt blessed to have been able to contribute in a way.

Scripture: Mosiah Ch2 V12
" digo-vos que como me foi permitido empregar meus dias avosso serviço até este momento não tentei obter de vós nemouro nem prata nem qualquer tipde riqueza;"

12 I say unto you that as I have been suffered to spend my days in your service, even up to this time, and have not sought gold nor silver nor any manner of riches of you;

I have a lot of really good mission friends going home right now and I really feel this scripture was necessary to resemble the type of service that was given, purely based on the desire to bring others unto the light which they had discovered to be true for themselves. Thank you to my friends reading this who are going home, you helped my testimony grow even stronger.

Challenge: Just say a quick prayer that me and my new companio, Elder Santos, can find some people in Queluz that need a little bit of that sweet gospel love. Straight up.

I'm super excited, this is gonna be unreal.

Elder out.

Mamba out.
