WEEK 90 I'm off to Cacém
WEEK 90 I'm off to Cacém
September 9, 2019
Hey everyone! Transfers came in and it looks like I'm moving out of Queluz. I will be heading off to the area of Cacém which is just an unbelievable area. I will actually be going there and staying with my same companion, Elder de Lima. He has already served there for 12 weeks, it was his first area in the mission, so he's pretty excited for that! We know that the Lord is gonna bless us so much this transfer as we strive to do everything as we need to and show our faith.
I didn't go day for day this week but in the end I just wanted to say that my time here in the area of Queluz was so amazing. Queluz is the smallest area in the mission, and it was a great 18 weeks. It was sad saying bye to my recent converts in both the areas of Queluz and Amadora (I served for a small period of time in the neighbouring area called Amadora). The bonds made were super strong and I'm really excited to come visit everyone again!
This week we had the baptism of Julieta, who we met at the temple open house, and Jecy who is a young 14 year old girl that Elder Goff and I found together and started teaching! It was super great to see the changes in the both of them and overall just a great way to leave an area, having baptisms in both of the areas, and we even had President and Sister Fillmore to watch!
I have grown so much over my time here of serving with Elder Santos, Elder Morris, Elder Goff, and Elder de Lima. I really learned so much from each and everyone of them. I am a better person because of the Christ-like atributes I saw them portray, and then did my best to immitate. I had a bunch of fun living in a fourman house with other buds like Elder Bailey and Elder Ingram as well!
I would say that I really learned the importance of being who you are, using your talents, and showing that you have faith knowing that the Lord (and not yourself) will get the work done.
I'll write more this next week! It will be pretty awesome because of all the new missionaries that arrive, 10 sisters and 7 elders! Lots of great missionaries will be training. Also, we will see Elder Neil L Anderson of the Twelve Apostles! He will be talking to our whole mission at the same time... I have never seen that happen in my entire mission. The main purpose of his trip however will be to dedicate the Potugal Lisbon Temple. Unreal, I feel so blessed to be serving as a Missionary at this very time. I appreciate all the missionary work that has been done here up until this point.
That’s it homies, I'll send some pics.
